Camefix is an innovative approach to a making decorative art glass panels and light sculptures for screens, windows and doors. Its glass panels glow and sparkle with the colours and hues of the rainbow, changing hue subtly with the seasons and time of day. It throws splashes of coloured light across the walls. It can have prisms in it so it tips rainbows into the room. I can draw and write on the glass with a drill so the image shows in white only when you look carefully, almost like a secret; or use black paint so the image is obvious. It gives your room a lovely sense of warmth and opulence. It can hide aunattractive views, but still let the sunshine in. Traditional leaded lights are glass panels held together in a lead framework, soldered, and sealed using lead-based putty, Lead dusts into lead oxide, making it hard to clean. CAMEFIX has long-life plastics and adhesives, making a strong, light framework, which will not distort or oxidise over time. CAMEFIX units are stable. They can be used to make sun-catchers or can be sealed into secondary glazed units, which are consist of an outer sheet of window glass, a sheet of Camefix, then an inner sheet of window glass. They can be made 12mm thick which is ideal for thermal insulation. They are easy to clean (so they can be used in bathrooms). As the Camefix panel is protected inside the unit the edges of its glass panels do not have to be made safe with came so the effect is much lighter and brighter than leaded lights. These units will not fail like double-glazed units do eventually, because expansion and contraction of air (caused by temperature variations) moves air inside the unit through the desiccant and dries it out: in case of accidents only the glass which is broken needs to be replaced, not the whole unit.
